Movember: men's health awareness month

Movember raises awareness of men’s health issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health.

This year, we’re particularly highlighting Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening. AAA screening is offered to men in the year they turn 65. It detects swelling and potential weakness in the wall of the aorta, a major blood vessel, which can be life-threatening if left untreated. Early detection allows for effective monitoring or treatment. If you receive a screening invitation, please take up the opportunity.

Any men aged 65 and over in West Sussex who have missed their appointment, not been screened before or want to find out more information and self-refer, can do so by contacting the Sussex AAA Screening service.
